    How does AtomPay work?
AtomPay securely manages domain transactions between buyers, sellers, and brokers. Funds are collected, the domain is transferred, and payment is released once both sides confirm completion.
What payment options does AtomPay support?

AtomPay supports wire transfers, credit cards, and crypto.

Credit card & crypto: Available for transactions up to $5,000 one-time or $10,000 total across installments.

Wire transfers: Required for all transactions above these limits.

Credit card payments also include a 2.9% processing fee.

    Is AtomPay secure?
Yes. AtomPay holds both the payment and the domain until the transfer is complete. If a transfer cannot be completed, you're fully protected with a refund guarantee.
    What fees are involved?
Every domain name transaction includes a one-time transaction fee. For installment plans, there's also an Installment Management Fee: the greater of $25/month or 0.01% of each monthly payment. Credit card payments carry an additional 3% processing fee.
Can I set up installment payments?
Yes. Buyers and sellers can agree to one-time payments or flexible installment plans, with customizable terms and control over who covers the fees.
    Who can use AtomPay?
AtomPay is designed for buyers, sellers, and brokers, whether you're securing your first domain, managing a portfolio, or handling client deals.
What is domain escrow, and how does it typically work for domain transactions?
Domain escrow is a setup where a neutral third party holds the buyer's payment (and sometimes helps oversee the domain transfer) until both sides meet the agreed terms, reducing fraud risk for both buyer and seller.

A typical domain escrow flow looks like this:

    • Buyer and seller agree on price and terms.
    • They open an escrow transaction with the escrow provider.
    • The buyer sends funds to escrow, and escrow confirms receipt.
    • The seller transfers the domain (often via standard registrar transfer/push steps).
    • The buyer confirms they received/control the domain (sometimes after an inspection period).
    • Escrow releases the funds to the seller (minus fees).

Some domain escrow models also support domain holding / installment-style payments, where the service may hold the domain during a payment term and release it after final payment.

AtomPay is not an escrow service. It is a secure payment and transfer service built specifically for domain transactions.

How is AtomPay different from traditional domain escrow services?

AtomPay is built specifically for domain transactions, and combines payment protection with a workflow designed around how domains actually transfer:

Domain-first workflow (not generic escrow): AtomPay lets a buyer, seller, or broker set up the deal, invite the other party (email or secure link), and agree to terms in a single, purpose-built flow.

Flexible payment structures: You can do a one-time payment or installments, and decide who pays the fees, both parties can review and request edits before confirming.

Domain holding: AtomPay collects both payment and the domain before releasing either side, and releases funds only after the buyer confirms receipt.

Transfer help + visibility: AtomPay's team facilitates the transfer using standard registrar steps, and both parties can track status in the dashboard.

Refund protection if transfer fails: If a domain can't be transferred, AtomPay includes a refund guarantee.

Does AtomPay replace the need for a third-party domain escrow provider?
For most typical domain sales, AtomPay can serve the same purpose you'd use a third-party domain escrow for: it collects the buyer's funds, helps coordinate the domain transfer, and only releases funds once the buyer confirms the domain is received, while keeping both sides protected (including a refund guarantee if the transfer can't be completed).
That said, some parties may still choose a separate escrow provider if their transaction has special requirements (for example, contractual, compliance, or internal procurement rules that mandate a specific escrow arrangement).
AtomPay is designed to remove a domain escrow need in standard cases by handling the transaction end-to-end within its domain-specific process.
    Why should I trust AtomPay?
Atom.com is trusted by over 50,000 brands and investors worldwide. Our platform has facilitated thousands of successful domain transactions with a strong record of security and reliability.
How long do domain transactions take?
Transaction speed depends on the buyer and seller, but AtomPay's backend process is optimized for efficiency. Domain payments are verified quickly, transfers are facilitated seamlessly, and payouts are issued promptly once the buyer confirms receipt.
