Feature Request : Addition of Integrated Code Editor #741
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently, Javastic lacks a live coding experience. Learners must switch between the website and local IDEs or third-party playgrounds to try out Java code, which breaks focus and adds friction in the learning process.
Describe the solution you'd like
Add an integrated code editor within the website where users can:
Write and test Java code snippets
See instant output
Run common templates (e.g., Hello World, loops, OOP)
Possibly get syntax suggestions or error highlights (basic)
Describe alternatives you've considered
Linking to external platforms like Replit or JDoodle (but embedding it inside would be more seamless)
Asking users to install a local IDE (not beginner-friendly)
Additional context
Adding a code editor will make the platform more interactive and effective for learning. It aligns with modern edtech standards and improves retention through practice-based learning.
Some potential open-source editors you could explore:
Hey @Shaswat0312, really appreciate the thoughtful suggestion — thanks for taking the time to share it!
You're absolutely right — a live coding experience would make Javaistic far more interactive and seamless for learners. I’ve been thinking along similar lines, and embedding something like JDoodle or Replit could be a solid first step. It keeps things simple while offering a smoother learning flow.
If you're interested, I’d be happy to discuss potential approaches and break it down into manageable pieces.
Also, if you haven’t already, a star on the Javaistic Project would really mean a lot — it helps the project grow and reach more learners 😊
@uiuxarghya Great that you liked my idea well nothing we will simply integrate a IDE which very easy to develop and integrate,
Well if you want I can work on it but you have already stacked it for V2,why don't you plan to integrate it in V1 ?

Absolutely — integrating a lightweight IDE is a great idea and would add a lot of value.
V1 isn’t maintained anymore due to its outdated tech stack and codebase complexity, which is why this feature is planned for V2 — our current and active version. So any new contributions will go directly into V2.
If you're up for building it, that’s awesome! Happy to support you with any guidance you need.
Yaa sure, let's get into it! It's my first time working on something like an IDE, and I'm excited too. I’ve done similar projects in JSX before, but I’m really looking forward to trying this in TS. It would be awesome if you could assign this to me!
@uiuxarghya I am using JDOODLE API i will push the code without the secret ID and Key,You can create one using Javaistic Email, i could have used mine but it is already being used in other project of mine, but still for testing purpose i have used it,also when this section will be further developed you can add backend in it so that it can work perfectly also on top of that as an initial stage feature it is good and and here are the initial reaults so far

Great work @Shaswat0312 so far — the UI looks clean, the output section is functional, and both light and dark themes are well implemented!
A few suggestions to improve the UX:

@uiuxarghya Definitely, and this was just the initial stage I will make more changes to it before PR.
