challenge
This article is a stub. You can help the IndieWeb wiki by expanding it with relevant information.
A challenge on the indieweb usually means one of two things:
- a blogging challenge: a topic to write about, or a list of questions to answer, in a single post, often passed along or "tagged" by others
- an ongoing challenge: an event-like invitation to post progress towards a goal over a set period, like exercise or posting photos at some frequency (e.g. daily), also supported by silos like Strava and micro.blog
Kinds of Challenges
Questionnaires
A list of questions you answer in a post on your own site, then invite others to answer too. Responses often link back to whoever started the questionnaire, or to whoever passed it on. See questionnaire for the full list with example responses, including:

- Cooking Conundrums Challenge
Prompts and Carnivals
A single theme or prompt, often with a host who collects responses into a roundup.
Collaborative Challenges
Challenges where two or more people write in response to each other.
- Title trades: two people swap blog post titles, and each writes a post for the title they received. The idea came from Kami.
zacharykaiwrites keeps a directory of people willing to trade at Title Traders.
Ongoing and Time-Based Challenges
Challenges that involve multiple posts, usually at a regular frequency like daily, for a set period such as a week, a month, or 100 days.
